Description: This 60-minute course is designed for mandated reporters as defined by the Illinois Abused and Neglect Child Reporting Act (ANCRA). Participants will gain increased knowledge to perform in the critical role they play in recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect. Participants will also discuss and evaluate the attitudes and internalized stereotypes that can affect one’s perceptions, actions, and decisions. This will include a brief assessment of implicit bias and engagement in how to intentionally interrupt the negative impacts bias has on people based on race, ethnicity, SOGIE, age, disability, and/or other characteristics. This course fulfills the new IDFPR requirement of a mandated reporter training with implicit bias section for 2021–2023 licensure renewal.
