Description: This NASW-IL Chicago District CEU training will look at how to create culturally competent private practice that goes beyond therapy. Building an inclusive and culturally competent private practice isn’t just about providing therapy—it’s about creating a space where every individual feels truly seen, heard, and valued. From the very foundation, a successful practice must integrate cultural awareness, respect for diverse identities, and adaptive, responsive care. By prioritizing ongoing education, inclusive policies, and genuine community engagement, therapists can cultivate an environment where clients of all backgrounds—regardless of race, age, ability, religion, gender, or sexual orientation—feel empowered to seek support. A commitment to cultural humility and responsiveness not only strengthens therapeutic relationships, but also ensures meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.

* REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration will close two business days before event start time at 9:00am CST on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

The Evolving Threat to Social Workers – And How to Protect Yourself

In Partnership with NASW-IL

NASWND Chapter 0 312

Date: March 18th, 2025

Time: 12:00 - 1:00PM CT

Location: Zoom

Description: A decade ago, Social Work Today described how social workers experience dangerous situations in their profession. Since then, the danger has greatly increased. One social worker told us her biggest concern was a client following her home. Today, any client can find their social worker’s address with a five-minute Google search. You go to great lengths to preserve your clients’ privacy – you need to be just as vigilant about your own. Our presentation provides strategies that individuals and organizations can implement that would result in a safer home and work environment.

Speaker: Ron Zayas
For more than three decades, Ron Zayas has been an entrepreneur focused on innovative security and technology solutions. His forward-thinking approach to the protection of personal data inspired the founding of Ironwall by Incogni. In addition to addressing the Federal Trade Commission and the National Association of Attorneys General on issues of Internet privacy and security, Ron is a frequent speaker and blogger on the future of online safety technology.
