Implicit Bias: From Allyship to Solidarity

In Partnership with NASW-IL

Implicit Bias: From Allyship to Solidarity
Date: Monday, October 23

Time: 3:00pm to 4:00pm CST
Speaker: Adana Cranfield, DSW, LCSW
Description: Moving from allyship to solidarity involves interrogating the disparity between what we think we believe and the thoughts and feelings that operate on an unconscious level. This implicit bias awareness training was designed to develop anti-racist social work practitioners. It includes an explanation of implicit bias along with its causes and effects. Both general and social work practice examples are used to develop the skill of recognizing, interrupting, and mitigating implicit bias.
