Ethical Confidentiality: Requirements and Exceptions Limiting Court Pitfalls

Description: This Jane Addams District ethics CEU presentation will cover the many aspects of confidentiality and define how social workers can avoid malpractice. In addition, social workers will be provided with resources to identify how and under what circumstances they may be asked to participate or avoid participation in client-related legal matters. Participants will be able to identify ethical boundaries and understand a philosophy of assisting human services providers in avoiding litigation and maintaining confidentiality. Providers will receive assistance for managing their practices with insight into the potentials legal pitfalls inherent to their practice.
